Lisa Little - Middle School/9th Grade Science

CCS is pleased to announce the addition of Lisa Little as the 6th through 9th grade science teacher. Lisa has been teaching middle and high school science since 1997 and is highly qualified by the state of Tennessee in Biology and Physical Science. She has been a member of the high school science curriculum and benchmark biology team for CMCSS since 2007. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and teaching certification in Biology and Education from Austin Peay State University and her Master of Science in Agriculture from Murray State University.
Mrs. Little has been married to her high school sweetheart, Scott, for 18 years and is the mother of one child, Hayden, who will also attend CCS with her next year. They own a horse farm in Woodlawn and have lived in the Woodlawn community for all of her memorable life. She considers it special that the last eight generations of her family have resided in this community. She and her family attend Dotsonville church of Christ.
Mrs. Little’s hobbies include camping, horseback riding, competitive bird dog field trial events, and cooking. She also enjoys being a volunteer cook, counselor, and craft coordinator for Lylewood Christian Camp.
Her philosophy on Christian education follows in her own words: “My favorite educational Bible verse is Proverbs 3:13 which reads, ‘Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding.’ I feel that science is an ongoing endeavor of seeking wisdom and understanding of the vast and varied universe that God created. We will explore how living and nonliving attributes interact to form unique and dependent relationships. I feel that it is my job as a science educator to help students to develop knowledge of these relationships, whether at the molecular level or as a participant in a biome. I want to help students comprehend their unique place in the world that God created and the task of being good and obedient stewards of his creation.”
