Elizabeth Bruce has been teaching English at Clarksville Christian School since 2013. Ms. Bruce is a graduate of Austin Peay State University. She has a B.S. degree in English with a minor in Professional Education, and has also received accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Ms. Bruce also has experience in speech, the National Forensics League, and mock trial. CCS is excited about the many talents Ms. Bruce brings to our school and the impact they will have on our students.
Ms. Bruce attends Hilldale Baptist Church, where she sings in the choir and teaches a 9th and 10th grade girls Sunday school class, and also helps with children’s worship. She believes that a Christian education allows students to incorporate their beliefs into the classroom in a way that allows us to teach them through that lens. Ms. Bruce states, “In my classroom I love getting to expound upon and discuss authors’ allusions to biblical stories and themes, rather than merely mention them and move along. Educating our students means teaching them about what they will encounter in our world and giving them the tools to thrive as productive members of society. If we can do this through the lens of biblical Christianity, then we can also teach them how to live their faith in everyday life.”
