Lance Carpenter is the husband of Catherine Carpenter and the father of daughter Payton Elizabeth. Lance and Catherine met at Austin Peay State University where they both attended college. They were married at Hilldale Church of Christ in 1997 and have continued in service of the congregation since then by teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School as well as serving in other capacities. Born and raised in Clarksville, Lance has been a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ family since 1974 where he now serves as a deacon. He has been a board member of the Hilldale Christian Child Care Center for many years and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors. Prior to becoming a member of the Child Care Center Board, Lance served as a member of its Parent Advisory Committee.
Lance attended Austin Peay State University majoring in Industrial Engineering. In 1989, Lance began working for the architectural firm of Davis, Stokes: Collaborative PC, Architects as project manager, being promoted to Junior Partner by the year 1998. After thirteen years of commuting to the architectural firm in Nashville, Lance decided he could devote more time to God, family and church if he was in Clarksville. In 2002, Lance began working in commercial development for the firm of Denney Development here in Clarksville. Catherine is currently employed by the Montgomery County School System and completed her MA in Education Leadership in May of 2007.
Being involved in the church and in particular the Christian Child Care Center has put the importance of daily Christian education in the forefront for Lance and his family. At the age of 6 months old, Payton Elizabeth was enrolled in Hilldale Christian Child Care Center where she continued until graduating in May of 2006. The Christian values and positive influences she gained through the center were immeasurable. Many of the friends she made through the childcare center have remained close to her heart and, in turn, have fostered lasting friendships among our families.
In addition to his duties as a husband, father, and CCS board member, he also co-coaches the Clay Sporting team at CCS.
