Mr. Matthew Johnson serves as the I.T. Director and also teaches Chorus and Drama at Clarksville Christian School. Mr. Johnson earned a B.A from Harding University and has received his accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Mr. Johnson comes to CCS from Goodpasture Christian School where he taught computer, music, Bible, and theater for 24 years. He has also assisted in training teachers on instructional technology and one-to-one device usage in the classroom. In addition to his technology experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge in the performing arts. Additionally, Mr. Johnson has developed and run a study abroad program for his previous schools and plans to assist CCS with the development of a similar program.
Mr. Johnson worships at the Echo Hills Church of Christ in Goodlettesville. He works with the REACH program, leads worship in singing, as well as speaking. Mr. Johnson states, “I have taught in Christian education for 32 years. I believe the purpose of Christian Education is to provide students the knowledge necessary to be successful in life. It should also teach them how to live in a Christ-like manner among people who do not practice Christian values, and to live with integrity and honor without compromise to the inherent evil that they face in this world. Christian Education is not to hide them from the world around them, but to prepare them to face the challenges of this life as Christ did.”
