Clarksville Christian School is proud to welcome Megan Pitts to the CCS family as an Upper School math and science teacher for the 2017-18 school year. She will be teaching 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra I, 9th grade physical science, and Scientific Research.
Mrs. Pitts received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Science with a concentration in biology and a minor in chemistry from Eckerd College in 2007. In 2012, she was awarded a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Austin Peay State University.
She comes to CCS with six years of experience teaching in the classroom, and enjoys an interest in science and STEM related fairs and competitions, as well as directing independent student research projects and lab sciences.
She and her family are members of Grace Church of the Nazarene, where she is involved in choir, a Sunday school instructor, and is a volunteer worker in the nursery. In her free time, she enjoys running and general fitness.
When asked about her philosophy in Christian education, she replied: “I believe that learning and faith go hand-in-hand. I am always focused on inspiring the students to have a constant desire to learn more about everything around them; not just learn material to pass a class. It is also my intention to present students with as many facts as possible so that they might have an educated, faith-based opinion on all issues where science and faith collide. It is my belief that a deeper knowledge of science leads to a deeper understanding and appreciation for God’s creation and His hand in the creation of everything in the natural world.”
