Susan Mimms is the fourth grade homeroom teacher at Clarksville Christian, and she also teaches fourth, fifth, and sixth grade Bible.
Ms. Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree with minors in Bible and Science from Freed Hardeman University in 1998. She received a Master of Arts in Education degree with a major in Elementary Education in 1992 from Austin Peay State University.
Ms. Susan brings with her almost ten years of experience teaching in the
classroom, including six years in a Christian school setting. In addition, she has been a Bible class teacher for 37 years. She and her family attend worship at the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing, where she is the Elementary Education Department Director. Additionally, she designed and wrote the Bible curriculum for the Elementary Department at Trenton Crossing.
When asked about her philosophy in Christian education, she replied: “I feel my calling is to teach children. When we comprehend the magnitude of the gift of Jesus and the unconditional love of God the Father, we feel compelled to reflect that love and grace to others. Sharing and teaching the Good News with children is a natural extension of this principle that has guided my life. In the classroom, I use children’s open curiosity about the world around them as a starting point for teaching them about God, His wonderful creation, and His unique purpose for each of them.”
