🌟🪖 CCS welcomes Sergeant Major John Witherspoon to our staff and the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps for Christian Schools (CJROTC) to campus to serve students! We are proud of our community’s strong military heritage and hope this program provides an even stronger connection for our students. This program aims to nurture character, discipline, responsibility and self-motivation in our students — while aligning with CCS`s Christian values.

SGM Witherspoon, who is retiring from the U.S. Army Special Forces, brings a wealth of experience to this new role at CCS. Originally from Norfolk, Nebraska, he joined the U.S. Army in 1996. He has led and served Special Forces, filling the roles of Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Team Sergeant and Medical Sergeant. His service to our country has included multiple combat deployments.

In discussing his work with students, SGM Witherspoon said, “I am excited to develop this program for the students of Clarksville Christian School and look forward to leading them the same way I led my soldiers.”

📢 Exciting Announcement from CCS Athletics! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Travis Cocke has been tapped as the new High School Head Softball Coach at CCS! 🥎

As the Founder and President of G1 Athletics, a Christ-centered travel baseball & softball organization, Coach Cocke has a remarkable record of successful college placements, with 100% of his high school seniors receiving collegiate offers to continue playing at the next level. With extensive involvement in the Clarksville area baseball and softball scenes, he brings a wealth of experience to our program.

In the 2023-24 season, Travis engaged with CCS to help develop and launch the middle school softball program. Working closely with Coach Phil Burkart, the founder of Centurions Softball, this past season culminated with the high school team earning a berth in the TSIAA State Championship game, finishing with a State Runner-Up title. 🏆 Burkart will continue to be an integral part of the program as the Director of Softball Operations, collaborating with Coach Cocke to ensure continued success and development.

Coach Cocke shared, "I am honored and excited to take over the CCS Softball program, and look forward to building upon the legacy that Coach Burkhart began 6 years ago. We return several starters from a group that competed for a state title, and have some very talented freshmen moving up from the middle school squad.

We expect the 2025 season will lay the foundation for unprecedented growth for our program. With the way our program will be structured, along with the new CCS campus being developed on Rossview Road, we will have access to facilities and resources unlike any school in the Southeast.

My goal is to make Centurions Softball the best High School program in the nation. I am very honored & humbled that God gave me this opportunity, it’s time to get to work!!!"

Earlier this month, CCS students, along with their peers from Christian schools across the nation, were blessed to attend a week-long training at the Presidential Leadership Institute (PLI) at York University . 🌟

PLI, now in its tenth year, is a joint effort of York University, Strata Leadership, and the NCSA to help students work in collaboration to address real-world challenges. The themes of faith, service, character, and leadership are woven together to challenge and inspire future leaders for a lifetime. 🙌📚✨

We are absolutely ecstatic that Mckenzie Hawley and Kenzie Cooper were recognized as recipients of the Howard Todd Servant Leadership Scholarship Award. 🏆🎓 The full-tuition scholarship to York University is given annually to the PLI students who best demonstrate leadership and character. 🎉🏆 We are so proud of Mallory Travis and Carter McCullough for representing CCS at the 2024 SCTP National Championships in Marengo, Ohio! 🎯

Carter has been an invaluable addition to the team since joining CCS two years ago. He`s a true team player, always striving to do his best and setting a great example for others. 🌟 His dedication and positive attitude have greatly contributed to the team’s success.

Mallory has been with the team throughout her entire middle and high school careers. With this tournament, she concludes a storied career that includes numerous accolades, notably being named the 2021 TNSCTP JV Ladies HOA State Champion. Her dedication and achievements have been nothing short of inspiring. 🏅
